What We Did
In the end we worked to deliver a straightforward and accessible navigation that even translates well to mobile! Additionally SLC have fully customisable forms that they can tailor to meet the needs of everything from course application forms to basic enquiries. As well as this SLC required a Document Repository to store everything from prospectuses, course information, training restaurant menus, travel maps and any of the other forms of information a bustling and expanding college website would have. On this too Become delivered an easy-to-use and fast method with a search function to boot for staff members and students to use.
SLC also has an effective, adaptable and intuitive course search that extends the default search engine for the SLC site. Users can be as specific or as general as they like with a tool that is used to find the right course for them based on their search criteria. The visual flair of the new SLC site was provided by Studio Stand, Become’s partner agency for this project, who delivered excellent final outcomes for SLC’s rebranding project. Become made the SLC site visuals a reality, advising Stand throughout the design process to make sure that the new site adhered to accessibility standards. Become then built the site from these bespoke designs and used our skills to ensure that the end result is a website with a high standard of accessibility and usability.
We also translated these visuals into a fully responsive layout which is better suited to tablet and mobile devices. Given the sheer size of the website and its navigation this was certainly quite the task to take by the horns and implement successfully, but Become rose to the challenge. Specific user interfaces are tailored to meet the needs of each type of device’s users and how they interact with the web.
All of this helps creates the excellent user experience visitors to the site enjoy.
